“Wu Wei is Not Woo Woo”

We continue our exploration of some of the world Wisdom traditions this Sunday by discoverng some of the principles of Taoism. “In the pursuit of knowledge, every day something is added. In the practice of the Tao, every day something is dropped… True mastery can be gained by letting things go their own way. It can’t be gained by interfering.”
The Tao Te Ching warns that forcing actions are likely to lead to chaos. Lao Tzu spells this out in Verse 15 of the Tao Te Ching:
Rushing into action you fail
Trying to grasp things, you lose them.
By forcing a project to completion
You ruin what was almost ripe.
Can you remain still and tranquil
Until the right action appears spontaneously?
